Celebrated the blessing of another day and year by the grace of GOD on August 7, 2008. On August 8, 2008 I enjoyed the evening of Jazz with Darren Gholston and Friends along with my Sorors of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority to cap it off. Wonderful guest artist , the best I seen since my first night attending the Jazz @ the Nile Bar & Grill. I look forward to her return to Bakersfield. Wow Darren. I first saw you play at the CSUB Jazz festival and needless to say you changed my life forever. My wife suprised me by taking me to a show a coupel years later where you played- tears ran down my face from the way you blow feeling our of your sax. Mr Gholston has got his finger on something here. You've got to hear this! Get this CD and "GROVE ON" to the "FLOW" of its melodys. Experience "D's MOOD" when you tell your loved one, "LET'S RIDE" and you take the "THE WALK" to the hooptie on "DUCE DUCE" for that "MIDNIGHT DRIVE". With tunes bumping she says it's "Too Funky In Here", you reply, "DON'T SAY THAT", "TALK TO ME".
Yea, it's that good, and you will be hooked "TODAY AND FOREVER"!

I asked you where could I go to met some people and you invited me to Yoguts park to hear you play, and I did meet some great people..........thanks. Darren, first I would like to say I really enjoyed your CD. I don't know if you remember me but I lived in Bakersfield and I went to South High and I graduated in 1979. I played with your brother, Dwayne, at Bakersfield JR. College. Your brother was a little older then me. Your brother was a great person and I can call him a friend. He was alway nice to me and he would alway talk to me. I play the trumpet but I wasn't never at the level of playing as your brother. I don't want to take up your time but I can say that I'm proud of you and it seem like I know you. Again, keep up the good work and I know that your family and friends are proud of you.
